This 1974 DeTomaso Longchamp is one of approximately 412 examples produced between 1972 and 1989. Originally delivered to Spain, it was modified to GTS specification by the DeTomaso factory in 1981. The car underwent significant refurbishment, including the installation of a five-speed manual transmission, a repaint in metallic gray, and a service of its 351ci V8 before being acquired by the current owner in 2022. Over $29k in subsequent work included reupholstering the black leather front seats, converting the air conditioning to R134a refrigerant, and replacing the valve cover gaskets, thermostat, and starter. Features include fully independent suspension, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ Campagnolo wheels, power windows, a wood-rimmed MOMO Alpina steering wheel, and a Kenwood stereo.

The Longchamp, designed by Tom Tjaarda at Ghia, shares a shortened version of the ladder-frame chassis developed for the DeTomaso Deauville sedan. This example was repainted metallic gray, with the hood, decklid, and quarter panels refinished in 2022. Exterior features include black-finished bumperettes, flared wheel arches, fender vents, dual side-view mirrors, dual locking fuel doors, and a quad-exit exhaust. Lighting components are sourced from period Ford and Alfa Romeo models.

The 15″ Campagnolo wheels are mounted with 205/60 front and 265/50 rear Hankook Kinergy ST tires, fitted in 2022. A spare wheel is housed beneath the trunk floor. The suspension, designed by Giampaolo Dallara, features upper and lower wishbones at all four corners and four rear shock absorbers. Braking is managed by power-assisted discs, with inboard rear units.

The 2+2 interior includes front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black leather, with a color-matched dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpets. The front seats were reupholstered in 2022, and the dashboard was re-dyed in 2023. Equipment includes air conditioning, converted to R134a refrigerant, power windows, a Kenwood stereo, Coco Mats, and a rear fold-down armrest.

The wood-rimmed MOMO Alpina steering wheel fronts DeTomaso-branded Veglia Borletti instrumentation, including an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 300-km/h speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer displays over 99k kilometers (~62k miles), with approximately 100 miles added under current ownership.

The 351ci Cleveland V8 was rebuilt in 2009 and is equipped with Comp Cams hydraulic lifters, Crane Cams rocker arms, and Eagle forged steel H-beam connecting rods. Maintenance in 2022 included replacing the oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, thermostat, and battery, along with the installation of a Holley automatic choke and an electronic fan controller. The spark plugs, coolant expansion tank, and starter were replaced in 2023.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission installed in 2021, replacing the factory automatic. Documentation includes factory literature, copies of original sales documents, service invoices, and records from the GTS conversion.
