This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe has been owned by the current owner for approximately 30 years and has undergone extensive refurbishment and modifications over that time. The body was refinished in red with black stripes in 2005, and the car is now powered by a 540ci V8 engine paired with a replacement TH400 three-speed automatic transmission installed in 2022. Performance upgrades include a narrowed 9″ rear axle, a roll cage, Sparco racing seats, a B&M shifter, a line lock, wheelie bars, and rear ladder bars. Additional features include a Holley Dominator carburetor, nitrous oxide system, aluminum radiator, Hooker exhaust headers, and Wilwood front disc brakes. This drag car is offered with build photos and a clean Arizona title.

The body was refinished by Excalibur Auto Body in Willowick, Ohio, and features red paint with black stripes, a cowl hood, dual side mirrors, and SS396 badging.

Polished Billet Specialties Comp Series wheels are wrapped in Hoosier Pro Street tires at the front and Hoosier Quick Time Pro cheater slicks at the rear. The rear suspension was back-halved in 2005 and incorporates ladder bars, coilovers, and a Panhard bar. The car is equipped with a line lock, and braking is managed by four-wheel discs with Wilwood front calipers. In 2020, the wheels and tires were replaced, and wheelie bars were fabricated and installed.

The interior features Sparco adjustable racing seats, a roll cage, and Simpson racing harnesses. A B&M ratchet-style shifter is mounted in the center console, while a nitrous oxide tank is secured behind the passenger seat.

The driver is greeted by a MOMO steering wheel and AutoMeter Sport-Comp gauges, including a 160-mph speedometer, tachometer, and gauges for water temperature, fuel level, voltage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows 89 miles, which reflects the mileage since modifications. The trunk houses a fuel cell, an Optima battery, and aluminum wheel tubs.

The 540ci V8 engine, installed in the mid-2000s, features a World Products Merlin block and cylinder heads, a Merlin aluminum intake manifold, and a Holley Dominator carburetor on a nitrous oxide distribution plate. The engine was overhauled by Gellner Engineering in 2015 and again in 2019. Additional equipment includes a Moroso oil pan, an aluminum radiator, dual electric cooling fans, and coated Hooker headers connected to a dual exhaust system with an H-pipe.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission installed in 2022, linked to a narrowed 9″ rear axle. The Chevelle is accompanied by build photos documenting the modifications.
